We all know planning a wedding can be very stressful! I will take the hassle of organising the ceremony out of your hands and promise to ensure it all goes as smoothly as possible. I want to do the hard work so that you and your partner can focus on enjoying your special day!

If you’ve made it this far you’ve either read the poorly written bio and are eager to know more or you’re just confused about what the celebrant actually does and need your questions answered!! I’ve broken it down into nine (ten) simple steps – I have no doubt you will still have questions so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If you haven’t done so already the first step is to read Who’s Jess? or if you have and you’re still interested, then proceed to step two.

Let’s meet! We’ll arrange a time to meet and get to know one another a little better so that you can decide if I’m the right celebrant for you. It will also be an opportunity for me to explain the process further, understand the ceremony you’re after and for you to ask any questions.

③ You decide you definitely want me to marry you because I’m young, fun, a bit weird and serious when it matters most. Alternatively, you're not a fan and look elsewhere.

④ We lock in a date and complete some legal paperwork. This includes the ‘Notice of Intended Marriage’ aka the NOIM which can be found here. This can be tricky to fill out so I’m happy to work through it together. At this stage I will need evidence of identity, date and place of birth; birth certificate or passport and drivers’ licence is ideal, however get in touch if this is an issue. Please note I need to receive the NOIM from you at least one month before the date of the wedding ceremony and no earlier than 18 months before the date of the wedding.

I send you a questionnaire and ask a few more questions so that I can make your ceremony as personal and unique as possible.

I write you the perfect ceremony (that I can send to you for approval) and help you write your personal vows if needed.

We have a rehearsal – this is optional but highly recommended (don’t worry your personal vows will stay a surprise).

You get married! This is the best part but also serious in terms of the legal vows and signing of documents. Thankfully we all have fun and only I have to worry about the legalities.

I provide you with a keepsake marriage certificate and you live happily ever after!

There are no other steps but nine steps didn’t feel right. That being said it’s the perfect time to remind you that the most important step is to enjoy yourselves! If you have read all the steps, then all you need to do now is get in touch!
